IT TOOK 17 YRS FOR OUR CBI COURT TO CONVICT LALU YADAV AND 44 OTHERS
It is indeed a great moment of elation for every honest Indian that after such a stretched period of 17 years, in fodder scam, CBI Court finds Lalu Yadav and 44 others including former bihar chief minister, Jagannath Mishra, 6 Politicians and 4 IAS officers, guilty eventually for fraudulent withdrawal of 37.7 Crores.
Subsequently, Lalu Yadav faces disqualification as MP that makes him ineligible for contesting election in 2014. It may be recalled that this very Lalu Yadav had spat on Indians who were agitating at Ramleela Maidan of Delhi in large numbers against colossal corruption in this country. I am personally extremely delighted since he had derided and scorned the power of common Indians from the sacred seat of parliament.
These convictions are no doubt notable but at the same time an overdue judgment of the Court. No doubt, the law has gripped their necks at last but it is a matter of great shame as well for they got conviction after almost two decades. These convicted criminals are worse than animals in human semblance that they could not even spare the money that was meant for the food of poor speechless animals.
That spells a lot in itself that laws are not same to every person in India.
There is not an ounce of doubt that this delay could not have been possible without implicit support of Indian Government and judiciary or else these political and bureaucratic criminals would have been convicted long back. Still, there are innumerable numbers of cases against tainted politicians who are still at large and far away from the clutches of Indian Laws.
The truth has prevailed at last in this high profile, fodder scam of 1997 that was screaming for justice for past seventeen years.
Like in corruption, as India is leading the world remarkably at 6th position in the world, it must surely be scoring leaps and bounds leaving the world behind in dispensing justice too at this tardy pace.
